Dee Washington

Dee Washington is Coach/Consultant with Circle Forward, Director of Insightful Design, and Co-founder of Cooperation Winston, a cooperative development network in Winston-Salem, NC. She has been a Democracy at Work Institute Fellow, and is currently a Co-Lead for a Collaborative Governance Project funded by Borealis Philanthropy.  She has served as a collaborative governance consultant with networks focused on Public Health, Food Systems, Community & Economic Development, and Anti-Violence Work. 

She is the former Program Director of Grassroots Grantmaking program focused on community collaboration and co-design.  Dee has spent the last 16 years working with over 150 small groups, neighborhood associations,  nonprofits, and government agencies in low-wealth communities practicing the principles of Asset-Based Community Development, racial equity, and advocating for systemic change in community development projects.
