Circle Forward will present a workshop:  Using the Principle of Consent to Make Equitable Governance Decisions

Are there better options for collaborative decision-making than majority rule or consensus?  With a combination of storytelling, multi-media presentation, and experiential exercises, we will guide participants to an Ah Ha! experience of how a third option, the game-changing Principle of Consent, is a better fit for cross-sector network governance and complex systems change.  Participants will be introduced to the “Range of Tolerance” tool from ecosystem science, and will be invited to reflect on how it can help them include a diversity of perspectives in decisions and better operationalize equity. We will introduce and apply process techniques that can allow multi-stakeholder partnerships to achieve greater equity, transparency and creativity.
